Alright.
I've been thinking long and hard about DA and all its benefits. Sure there are little problems, sometimes its hard to categorize art and then there's the ever looming threat of art theft. But you find these things anywhere.
Da is such an awesome community. I remember back to starting this account, when I was doing crappy little pieces on MS paint....and you know what? It was the people on here giving nothing but possitive feedback and reassurance that spurred me onto where I am now. I found myself inspired by some of the more talented and succesful artists on DA to go out and get myself a graphics tablet. I was constantly finding myself with a queer feeling of obligation to push myself furhter and nurture my small talent into something bigger and something that I felt worthy of praise. Its still the same now, I aspire still to become as good as some big names on DA and earn myself recognition and reputation.
So with all this on my mind I decided we all aught to do something to show just how grateful we are for this site, and most of all the people on it. I was talking to my fella about this, and he said I aught to organize a big project on DA. Something like those crappy chain e-mails we've all had only better, and see how far we can push it.
I propose that we all organize a chain of thanks. It takes only one person to start it (me) and how it goes is this - I draw a random piece of gift art for a random artist from my list, anyone at all. I'll ask them first of course if they wish to participate (this just ensures the chain won't just die out all of a sudden) and then if they agree I'll draw them something completely random, of my choice be it a character of theirs with a character of mine or whatever, and present it to them as a gift. Then, in the nature of such good will that person will do the same thing. Choose a random name from their friends/watch list, draw something and pass it on etc etc. You don't choose a friend,or someone you talk to often. Dig around and find someone you may not normally contact. This in effect may just bring some familiarity to the community and expand the whole good natured social atmosphere here at DA. If not, its still a fun project.
If you are asked to participate and find yourself swamped then refuse and someone else should be found. I feel it'd be awesome to see how long this thing lives for.
I suggest the pieces submitted should be titled 'Chain of thanks' so that everyone can keep track and search for new pieces if they like.
Just wanting to know what you all think?
If I get some possitive responses maybe we should spread the idea around in journals a little and get it out there. See if itd be worth doing. MMk?
Thanks for reading!
.:~Odd~:.

p.s
I know i've been inactive for some time. I'm pretty sure I've lost track of some trades along the way too so if you'd just care to give me a shove in the ribs if I owe you a piece I'd be more than happy to hop to it now I've got time off.
